However, they must use a great way to market their business. By following the advice in this powerful guide, you can take full advantage of video marketing.

You can share any message using video, which can be tailored to any audience. No matter what your goal is, with video marketing, you can achieve it. Use video marketing to:

  1. Drive more traffic to your website
  2. Obtain more leads for your business
  3. Make more sales

Positive Results from Video Marketing Surveys

There have been numerous studies on the impact of video marketing. Internet giant Cisco estimates that online video will account for 82% of all consumer traffic on the Internet by 2022. It was also determined through surveys that viewers will retain as much as 95% of the message in a video. They will only retain around 10% of a message that is text-based.

A survey was conducted of businesses, and around 83% of them said that they would use video marketing more if there were no challenges, such as the time it takes, the effort required to create high-quality videos, and the cost of equipment and other expenses.

A survey of those that already participate in video marketing revealed that 89% of them stated that they achieved a good ROI with it. The survey results suggest that video marketing is a very effective way for a business to communicate its message to its audience.

Video Drives Up Audience Engagement

You can share your videos and get your message across in many places. The most popular platforms for video are:

  • YouTube
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Tik Tok
  • Snapchat
  • Vimeo
  • Daily Motion

YouTube is the second-largest website worldwide and the second-largest search engine after Google. Billions of users visit YouTube daily to find answers to their questions. If you only use one platform to share your videos, it must be YouTube. Other video-sharing sites like Vimeo and Daily Motion are tiny compared.

If you have a Facebook profile (which you should do), then share your videos there too. Facebook is the third largest website in the world, and videos are by far the most engaging media on the platform.

A social media post that includes a video is likely to attract almost 50% more views than those posts that do not have a video. Every day, more than 100 million hours of video are watched on Facebook, and the numbers are growing. Facebook users like videos and want more and more.

Other social platforms show increases in engagement with video. A video on Twitter is likely to get ten times the engagement of a standard tweet. If you post a video on Instagram, this will likely result in more than 20% more interaction. Overall, videos on social media platforms generate 1,200% more shares than other posts.

Drive More Leads and Sales

All businesses want more leads and sales. Video marketing can help you to achieve that. Adding videos to your landing pages for your products and services can help increase the conversions you achieve by as much as 80%.

There was another survey conducted on customers that purchase products and services online. Around 64% of the participants confirmed they purchased after watching a video on the landing page.

Another survey found that people were up to 84% more likely to purchase after watching a video on a sales page. There is no doubt from all of this that video marketing will help you to increase your conversions significantly.

Videos can Rank High for Tough Keywords.

Trying to rank a conventional web page for the more difficult keywords is challenging. Google and the other search engines favor the most reputable and credible websites that have been around for a long time.

When you optimize your videos correctly, not only can you rank high in YouTube searches, but you can also achieve high rankings in Google. You probably already know that Google owns YouTube, so they will always prefer YouTube videos.

Adding videos to your web pages will also help to reduce the bounce rate. Visitors will stay longer on a page that has videos. Google and the other search engines prefer pages with a high dwell time and reward them with higher rankings. Getting backlinks from video sharing and social sites will also help your SEO.

Videos help to Build Trust.

If you use text and images in your web pages, you will not build much trust. However, adding videos can significantly raise trust levels with your target audience. People want to know more about you and your business, so it is crucial that you make a personal appearance in some or all of your videos (we will discuss this in more detail later in this guide).

Creating videos demonstrating the benefits of your products and services is the right thing to do. It is because as much as 90% of customers state that watching videos influences them to make purchases.

Video Marketing Improves Brand Awareness

If you are a reasonably new business, getting your brand noticed by your target audience is not the easiest thing to do. Nevertheless, it would help if you increased the awareness of your brand, and video marketing is a very effective way to achieve this.

When you create videos, you can position yourself as an authority and an expert in your niche. You can tell your brand’s story and why persuade your target audience to interact more with your brand.

Video Marketing Improves Brand Awareness

Reach Decision Makers with Video Marketing

Many business owners must realize that video marketing can help them reach their target audience‘s decision-makers. A survey conducted among business executives revealed that 75% watched videos related to their industry each week.

The survey spoke with senior executives and found that almost 60% preferred watching videos rather than reading text on a web page or a social platform. These senior executives also shared videos that they found helpful with other people in their companies.

Combine Video Marketing with Email Marketing

Email marketing is still an effective way to communicate with your target audience, but the problem is that people need more emails these days. You can improve your open and click-through rates by combining video with your email marketing.

People prefer to watch a video than they do reading text. If you add the word “video” in your subject lines, your open rates will likely increase significantly. Adding a video to your email message will probably lead to a 300% increase in click-through rates.

Now that you are aware of the benefits of video marketing, it is natural that you will want to get started immediately. However, the very best videos are always planned. Yes, preparing great videos for your video marketing campaigns takes more time and effort, but this is worth it in the long run.

Some of the videos you create will generate leads and sales for you for a long time if you create them correctly. Always think long-term when you are planning your videos. Creating your videos will take time and effort (and possibly money), so you want to get the most from them.

Research your Videos

What kind of videos are you going to create? The following article will explain the different types of videos you can make. Nevertheless, for now, you need to understand that many people will discover your videos on platforms such as YouTube through search.

You need to conduct keyword research to create a series of successful videos. You need to know what your target audience is looking for in your niche. Then you need to create videos around the main keywords you find from your research.

One of the easiest ways to conduct keyword research quickly and efficiently is to use the free Google Keyword Planner. You only need a Google account (Gmail email address) and then create a free Google Ads account. You do not have to place ads to use the Keyword Planner tool.

Navigate to the Keyword Planner and then enter some “seed” keywords here. It would be best to consider what search terms people use in Google and other search engines when they want more information about a niche.

The great thing about the Google Keyword Planner is that it will show you the following:

  1. The search volume for the different keyword terms
  2. Related keywords to your seed keywords

It is best explained with an example. Let us assume that you are in the weight loss niche. You promote products (yours or someone else’s), showing people how to lose weight. So, your seed keywords could be:

  • Lose weight
  • Diet plans
  • Exercise for weight loss
  • Weight loss supplements

For a niche as large as weight loss, you will probably be able to come up with many more “seed” keywords than this. Enter all of these into the Keyword Planner and see your results. Google will provide you with the search volumes for the seed keywords and also provide you with related keywords.

You can save your list of keywords in a CSV file or a Google Sheet directly from the Keyword Planner. It is something that you must do. Create a master keyword list that you can add to over time. People change their search habits often, so you must regularly conduct keyword research for your niche.

Take a look at your niche and decide which keywords you will target. Although ranking high with a video is more straightforward, choosing “long tail” keywords (3 or more words) is best. Once YouTube notices your videos and your viewing numbers increase, they will also rank you for more complex terms.

Plan every Video

Once you know what videos you want to create, you need to create a plan for each one. What are you going to include in your Video? Decide on the message you want to convey to your target audience.

Videos that are created “off the cuff” rarely do well. Unless you are a master presenter that can capture an audience, it is far better to plan your videos. Be prepared to put in the time and effort to plan out all of your videos. You will get much better results when you do this.

The most popular videos answer the burning questions your target audience has in your niche. Make it your business to know these burning questions and plan your videos around them. You can identify some, if not all, of these questions from your keyword research. If you need to do more research, then do it.

A Script or Prompt List?

It would help if you conveyed the most critical points you want to cover in your videos. In order to do this, you can create a full script or a list of prompts to ensure that you don’t miss anything important.

Reading from a script can sound monotone and boring. Your viewers may easily detect that you are reading from a script that is not good. We recommend that you prepare a list of prompts that naturally guide you from one section of your Video to the next. You can speak naturally and use your prompt list to ensure that you cover everything.

Optimize your videos for search

Identify what you need to make great Videos

We have yet to discuss the equipment and software needed to make great videos. You will see this in a later chapter. What we are talking about here is identifying gaps in your knowledge to answer the questions that your audience has fully.

The more proof that you can provide in a video the better. If you need to get social proof of some kind, then look for it. Find statistics that you can use to back up the claims that you are making in your videos and quote the source of these numbers.

For your first Video, we recommend that you create a short one. Longer videos can come later. If you are not well-known in your niche, then only a few people are going to want to watch an hour-long video. Start with a video that lasts at most 5 minutes to act as an introduction to your business and brand.

Check to see how well your Videos are performing

When you use YouTube and social platforms to upload your videos, you should have access to essential metrics that will tell you how well your videos perform. You are interested in the number of views and likes and dislikes for YouTube. Another key metric for YouTube is watch time. Are your videos watched from beginning to end?

The number of comments on a YouTube video provides evidence of engagement. If many people subscribe to your YouTube channel, this is also good. With social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, you want your videos to receive likes and be shared as much as possible. Again, pay particular attention to the comments on the videos.

Suppose one of your videos has performed better than anticipated; you must understand why. There could be several different reasons for this. Check if YouTube users see your videos high in the search results. Look at your watch time metrics and see if people need to give up on your videos early.

Find Out what Others are Doing

Look at the videos in your niche with the highest number of views and other forms of engagement. What makes these videos different from yours? Sometimes it can be a case of another person being more well-known than you are. Refrain from concerning yourself with this; look at their videos’ structure anyway.

Be bold and proud to learn from experts in video marketing. You will learn a great deal from this guide, which will set you on your way to success in video marketing. However, be committed to learning new things about video marketing all of the time. Courses are available, and you can learn much by searching online.

You can create different types of videos at different times to boost your video marketing efforts. It is all about connecting with your target audience and persuading them that they can and should trust you and your business.

It is crucial to remember that your existing customers will have very different needs from potential customers. An existing customer already knows and trusts you. To entice new prospects to become customers, your videos need to build trust and prove that you know what you are talking about.

Create Explainer Videos

You should create explainer videos for your business. These are right for new prospects who are just learning about your brand. A good series of explainer videos will inform your new prospects about the products and services you offer and how they will benefit them.

Explainer videos are an excellent way to generate leads for your business. For each one you create, you want to highlight a problem your target audience has in your niche and explain how your product or service will solve the problem.

Think of explainer videos as “high-level.” You do not have to demonstrate any of your products or services here. You aim to focus on engagement and make the videos relatively short. Explainer videos are often shared if they are fun and engaging. It can be a good idea to use animations in these videos.

With every explainer video you make, you must tell your prospects what is in it. There is no requirement for a hard sell here. You are just focusing on the pain points that your audience has in your niche and informing them that you have a solution.

Create How-To Videos

How-to videos are always popular on sites like YouTube. People often turn to videos to learn how to do something, which is an excellent opportunity for your business. They will move your prospects from discovering your brand to understanding your offer.

We are talking about step-by-step tutorials here. All of your how-to videos need to show your viewers the exact steps they need to take to achieve something. You can make your how-to videos entertaining to increase engagement.

Take a look at your keyword research list here. You want to answer questions that appear in your list with your how-to videos. Your videos will likely be discovered through either YouTube or Google searches.

You need to know your audience and the questions that they need answers to. Your how-to videos need to answer all of these questions. At the end of each video, add a call to action (CTA) that directs them to your products and services or other valuable information that will entice them to become customers.

Create Promotional Videos

These are sometimes called “teaser” videos. They will help to drive traffic to generate leads and sales. There are several different things that you can promote in these videos, including:

  • Product launches
  • Special events
  • Webinars

Promo videos are more effective than text-based assets for marketing, such as guides and reports. As you know, people would prefer to watch a short video rather than read a lengthy guide.

Share your videos on social media

Create Expert Videos

Your aim here is to prove you are an expert in your niche. People like to work with experts, and these videos will boost your reputation in the niche. You will be educating your audience on a particular topic where you know that they are looking for answers.

Here you can demonstrate your thought leadership in your niche. You are going to be providing your perspective on things so that you can build trust with your audience. Be willing to share your expertise here, and imagine that you are starting a conversation with your audience.

Create Case Study Videos

In order to convert your prospects into buyers, they need proof that your products and services deliver. Case study videos are a great way to do this and will work for you if you create them correctly.

Social proof is essential for your business. Think about the case studies you can create to show your products and services in the best light. For maximum impact, you must include facts and figures in your case study videos.

Create Product or Service Demonstration Videos

Demonstrating your products and services in a video will significantly increase your conversions. Here you will show your audience how your products and services work. You will demonstrate key features and benefits in these videos.

A demo video aims to highlight the value of your products and services. They are different from sales videos. If you promote physical products, you could create “unboxing” videos showing everything. You can provide “over-the-shoulder” demonstrations for digital products and services.
